CASH DRAWERS: HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT

OLDER MODELS:

  1. Painted drawer as shown above.

  2. Has 2 cords underneath:​

    1. Serial cable 

    2. Power cord 

  3. Serial cable runs directly to POS and connects at Comm 2 (B) port.

SERIAL CABLE PORTS INSIDE POS:

  1. Guest Check printer connection on left.​

  2. Cash Drawer connection on right.

  3. Make sure cable is seated properly.

POWER ISSUES:

  1. Check power cord connection on bottom of drawer.

  2. Check AC adapter at adapter and outlet.

  3. Try other known working outlet.

NEWER DRAWERS:

  1. Unpainted metal front.

NEWER DRAWERS:

  1. Check connection under drawer. 

  2. One cable provides connectivity and power supply.

NEWER DRAWERS:

  1. Cash drawer plugs directly into Guest Check printer.

  2. Make sure connection is seated properly.

DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY:

  1. Select Test Cash Drawer.

  2. Install/Reset OPOS Printers.
