PRINTER ISSUES: HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT

GUEST CHECK PRINTER: NOT PRINTING

  1. Check power connections.

  2. Check for paper (thermal paper).

  3. Check printer port cable/ Re-seat.

  4. Power off/on.

  5. Run test (power off, hold down FEED while turning back on).

  6. Drop new printer drivers (see DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY). 

PRINTER CORDS:

Blue arrow- printer cable​

Red arrow- power cord

PAPER NOT CUTTING PROPERLY

PAPER JAMS

CAN'T OPEN PRINTER LID:

  1. Open front lid of printer housing.

  2. Check window at red arrow.

  3. Look for white triangle.

  4. Needs to be centered and match diagram on left.

PAPER NOT CUTTING PROPERLY

PAPER JAMS

CAN'T OPEN PRINTER LID:

  1. Turn wheel at blue arrow until white triangle is centered in window.

POWER ISSUES:

  1. Check power cord seating at back of printer.

  2. Check AC adapter at adapter and wall outlet.

  3. Switch to other known working outlet.

BAR REMOTE PRINTERS:

  1. Controlled by 1 of the POS.

BAR REMOTE PRINTERS:

  1. Connectivity is controlled by red serial adapter.

  2. Check to make sure adapter is seated correctly and ethernet cable is seated correctly at the back of the printer.

  3. Power cord is black.

BAR REMOTE PRINTERS:

  1. Check connections on red adapter at the POS.

  2. If all connections are good, REBOOT.

  3. If there are still issues, drop new drivers (see DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY) and REBOOT.
